That's two wins in a row for the Band-Aids. Once again, strong attendance. I was still on the DL and Tim was off fighting fires and saving lives, but everyone who DID show up made an impressive display. Defensively John Krause held his own at 3rd base and our outfield didn't let much by. Honestly, we didn't make a hell of a lot of catches, but at least we kept the ball in front of us and got those balls in. And with the exception of one throw to first, we had very few errors. Kudos to Koryn for making a couple outs at the plate too.

My favorite part of the game was our hitting and base running. Tracy pushing a single into a triple. And THEN getting a home run!!! Aaron got his first home run too! The rest of our players were doing a great job of avoiding the tenacious short stop and and placing their hits right over second base in the center field gap. Our usual tactic of hitting to right was foiled by a feisty Brit in their right-center field (holler to him), but we adjusted and brought home 21 runs! Melissa, who was robbed of two beautiful hits to right field, did our team right by not hanging her head, but by sticking in there and getting a great hit her third time around. The cool thing about pop flies to right field is that, even if they're caught, they give our team a great chance to tag up and advance on the bases. In fact, Double A has been hitting to right for a long time, and has brought in more RBIs than perhaps anyone on our team

My play of the game goes to Amanda for a great pitching game, striking out the same girl twice...SWINGING! My play of the season goes to John Krause, Tim Gammage, and Melissa Telloni for getting into their groove with this team. We're happy to have you.

Let's cap the season with one more win before the tournament, Band-Aids. I'll see you next week with my uniform on.

Eddy Gets Lost

If anyone out there reading this hasn't visited Arizona or lived in Arizona in June it's been really brutal. I think it's been like at least 12 days in a row or something ridiculous where it's been over 109. Anyways, the point being is that I finally cut the sleeves of my jersey on Sunday to allow some breathing room for my body. Not only can I now get proper arm movement while pitching, but it allows my armpits to truly sweat. I enjoy looking around at the team to see what they've done with their jersey's. Koryn added a v-neck to hers and I don't think Drewface even has any jersey sleeve anymore...it's a straight up tank. It's almost like we were all given a Gap favorite T and told to make it our own. Before you know it Lauren will get her ole bedazzler out and make her nickname really shine.

It was a great game we pieced together. There were some amazing hits by Traceface and I'm beginning to believe the heat really puts some extra pop in her swing because she has been en fuego. Torme also had some solid contact to right and she's getting back into it after not playing Alaska ball in awhile. I had a few favorite plays of the game and they didn't really involve us:

1. The fly out from Mary, an Eddy's player, to an unknown Doc & Eddy's 3rd base coach for an actual out
2. In the 1st inning where the D & E 2nd base runner thought there were 3 outs when there were only 2 and ran into the dugout. Drewbyrd ran over to get the actual 3rd out.
3. The umpires knowing coach Bob's name. They ask Bob about the runs scores, they ask Bob how many outs there are, they ask Bob what size shirt he wears...

Great game BA's and let's get Team Ramrod next Sunday before the tournament. Stay inside it's dangerous out there!
